Work Experience
Our week-long Work Experience Programme invites Year 10 students to explore different areas of hospitality, from guest services to events and F&B. Here at The Grove, we want to highlight the amazing opportunities a career in hospitality can bring. We know it can be tough not knowing exactly what you want to do at this age, but through hands-on experience and learning, you’ll see that hospitality offers exciting paths you might not have expected.

Participants will have the opportunity to explore different areas of the industry, from guest services to events and F&B. Spending time on work experience is a brilliant way for students to discover what it’s really like to work in luxury hospitality. To give you a sense of what to expect, we asked a few of our school work experience students to reflect on their time with us — from the highlights of their placement to the skills they developed along the way.

Were there any departments that stood out to you?
“I enjoyed working in the Walled Garden because I felt like I got to help out the most when I was there. Making drinks, collecting empty cups and asking the guest for anything they might need!”
How do you think this experience has contributed to what you would like to do in the future?
“I have really enjoyed this and I am th8inking maybe I want to continue as a casual when I am 17 if possible. It has really made me see that working in hospitality has increased my confidence and skills with speaking to new people and all the teams in the different departments were so nice!”
Were there any managers that stood out to you?
“I thought they were all really nice and helpful!”
do you feel you have been supported throughout your time here?
“Yes, everywhere I was, I felt like everyone was there to help me if I need it and made sure I was with someone all the time and not on my own!
how did you find your expereince at the grove?
“I really enjoyed my week working at The Grove. I felt like I really got to see all the different jobs and departments and each day I loved to learn new things and meet new people!”
